What a paper pool shares

A paper pool is one modeled envelope that member executions split by weight. It is not a broker demo account, and the slice is not an exchange wallet.

A paper pool is one modeled envelope. Each member execution receives a slice of that envelope in proportion to its weight. The pool is not a second product beside the bot, and it is not an exchange wallet. Strategy, bot, and execution already places funding on the run. The pool is the shared shape of that funding.

One envelope, then the split

A standalone execution carries its own budget. A pool member does not. The pool computes the envelope once, as a fixed amount, then assigns each member:

slice = envelope x (member weight / total member weight)

Calculation used in this article

Paper pools use that fixed envelope. There is no live wallet to take a percentage of, so percent-of-wallet funding is not offered on paper.

These figures are a worked example, not a recorded run. The envelope is 10,000. Two members have weights 3 and 2. The total weight is 5.

The panel shows the 6,000 slice beside the 4,000 slice. The larger weight received more of the same envelope. It did not open a larger exchange account.

When one member's result moves both slices

Adaptive budget is on by default for a fixed pool. When it is on, the envelope becomes the configured amount plus the members' realized modeled results since the amount was last set. The new envelope is then split by the same weights.

Keep the weights at 3 and 2. Member A closes a modeled result of +1,000. Member B is flat. The envelope becomes 11,000.

Member B did not trade. Its next entry still sizes off 4,400 instead of 4,000, because it shares the envelope. A loss of 1,000 on A would shrink both slices the other way. The envelope floors at 0. New entries stop when there is nothing left to slice.

When adaptive budget is off, sizing stays on the configured 10,000 no matter what has closed. That is the switch that stops paper equity from compounding.

Weights can also be recomputed from a shared metric formula. Until that formula produces a value, the literal weight is the seed. The my / total split does not change. Only the numerators do.

What the pool is not

Paper trading vs backtesting already says Tradee paper is not a broker demo account. The pool inherits that limit. It has no exchange login, no exchange balance, and no broker fill. Modeled positions update on Execution as signals fire. They are not venue truth.

A paper execution does not publish a generated feed. An output execution can publish the same kinds of modeled transitions through the Live API, and it can join a pool of its own in output mode. Tradee still does not route or fill an order.

The how-to for starting the member sits on the paper pool guide. This page is the split. Use that guide when the next job is to run the bot inside the envelope.
