BYOK agents
Add an agent with your own provider key, then select it as the active agent for conversations.
What BYOK means
Bring your own key (BYOK) lets you run the assistant through a provider account you control. You pay that provider directly. BYOK conversations do not consume Tradee Assistant Credits and are not bound by the shared platform usage meter.
Set up an agent
- Open Settings → AI Agent.
- Under Your agents (BYOK), choose Add agent.
- Fill in Name, Provider, Model, Base URL, and API Key. Optional fields cover max output tokens, context tokens, and request timeout.
- Supported provider modes include OpenAI-compatible, DeepSeek, Ollama, and Anthropic (Claude).
- Save the agent. The list shows provider, model, and whether a key is set.
Activate it
Set Active agent to your BYOK agent and save. Choose App Default to return to Tradee's default assistant. Only one active agent drives your conversations at a time.
Keys and editing
- API keys are stored encrypted. Listings show only whether a key is present.
- You can reveal a stored key when editing, or leave the key field blank to keep the current key.
- Edit or delete agents from the same settings section.
Requirements
BYOK still requires the platform assistant to be available. If the assistant is globally unavailable, you can prepare agents and preferences in advance; they take effect when it is turned on.
